Creative Inspiration

I often get asked, where I get my inspiration from. I usually don’t have a great answer to that question because it ranges from piece to piece. Sometimes its something I see growing outside, sometimes I’m inspired by flipping through the pages of the many magazines I subscribe to and other times ideas just come to me out of the blue.

I thought I’d share with you one of the sources of inspiration for one my art pieces, “Yarrow.” I’d been working a design for an event that I was really excited about - and after days of working on and hammering out the final details of the design we found out the event was being canceled. I was bummed, but liked the idea so much I decided that I’d create an art piece using some of the same ideas. So this event flyer idea was transformed into the painting “Yarrow.”  I hate for a good design idea to go to waste!
